Last Friday night, we made a quick stop to see some friends in Michatucky that were jammin’ on the little stage inside Jukes. After a large handful of hellos and a few hugs, I noticed that Rocky Horror Picture Show was playing on the projector. Now while I love this movie, it just seem pretty damn random to be playing with no sound in a bar. It did end up being worth a handful of funny “what the hell” looks as people noticed the debauchery on the screen.

Last Thursday night, the Wu-Tang Clan blasted through the Intersection in a blaze ( ha ha get it? ). I had shot a show in the past that was Method Man and Redman (another great show) but the last time the Wu-Tang bus pulled up, I was sadly absent. This was definitely a show to be remembered with all of the hip hop talent, originally from NYC, dancing around on stage. For me, I had just received my camera back from Canon (shutter and mirror box replacement) hours before the show and it was my first show back shooting. During the first song, my head/face/camera were sprayed with half a bottle of water from Method Man and the last few swigs of champagne from RZA. I snagged the empty bottle from under the stage at the end of the night as memorabilia.

I just took a quick break from work to walk around the back 9 with the dogs. It’s fun to see all the tracks left from various random animals that came before us. And many times, I looked behind me to see the effects that we left on the snow for someone/something else to see/smell/explore. Ever wonder about the things you “leave” behind?

So it’s January 1st, 2012 and this is the *FIRST* time this “winter” (or lack there of…) that I have really been able to shovel. Sad but true… oh well. Still excited that it’s finally here! Now just keep those fingers crossed that it stays…

The landlord hasn’t mowed the front yard in 27 days… The last time he showed up to mow was June 1st. I found this little guy on a flower in the middle of the yard. He was just having a blast bouncing from flower to flower and let me tell you… there were plenty to go around.

Today brought quite a bit of rain early on but the afternoon led way to some drier weather that let me take a few walks around the backyard with the dogs. Lots of water everywhere but still great weather to get outside in.

I had wanted to shoot this creek awhile back but then the blizzard hit in early February and it was covered until recently. I was excited to be able to see actual flowing water again. I did some video with the GoPro that I am going to edit together soon.

After getting some work done at the studio one day, I decided to take a bit of a walk around the area with Adam’s 5D Mark II since it was sitting here unused. LOVE the full frame sensor of this thing! It works especially nicely using the 17-40 F4 lens. just before sunset.

This is a train that appeared to be just chilling on the tracks and blocked Front Ave for almost 30 minutes. I really like the perspective I was able to get here with the track and the car about 20 feet away.

So… I have been trying to drink less pop lately. Since I can only take some much plain water, I have developed an obsession to Crystal Light. I decided to throw up some white paper and a few lights awhile back to shoot my drink in my pilsner glass (just learned the proper name of the glass from wikipedia). Said pilsner glass was pilfered from a local establishment after a fun night. I think there were a few adult beverages involved… shhhh don’t tell.

The Bronk Brothers made their debut at the Whiskey River Saloon in Grandville on the 11th/12th of February and I was on hand for the Saturday show. I walked in the door around 9:45 and was blown away by the amount of people hanging out in the bar. There were no open tables and only 2 seats open at the bar! I love the place but it hasn’t been the busiest of places in awhile. It was also good to see Brian/Heath and the guys since it had been some time.
