365 Photo : 40 – Less Than Jake

Less Than Jake rolled through town a few weeks ago and Amanda/Lora and I were on hand to check out the show. I have heard of them before but honestly don’t think I actually knew any of their music. They put on a pretty good show considering I can’t normally get into a show of music that I don’t previously know. Good job guys!

365 Photo : 39 – Business Cards!

Yay! I finally got my business cards in for On The Run Photography. It’s been a long time coming and I still need to get the website done that is listed on the cards but… they are printed! :)

365 Photo : 38 – Dancin’ at the Crazy Horse

While I have apparently done well at figuring out the close ups with my remote lights, you can see that the wide shot is still not quite right. I tried a bunch of times this night and this was the best thing that I could come up with. More to come on this front…

365 Photo : 37 – Dan bangin’ on his drums

This is another photo from my experimentation with a few remote lights at smaller bar shows. This helps give the photos some depth along with adding some light since most of the bars can be quite dark. I think this is definitely probably one of the best drummer photos that I have ever taken at a live show. And to think… It only took add 3 lights/receivers to the situation and apologizing to Premo for basically blinding him for a couple songs.

365 Photo : 34 – It’s a Mother/Daughter Moment

Danielle and I finally got together after a random round of sickness to take some adorable photos of Riley. As pictured, she is 16 days worth of cuteness. We plan to do some one, three, six and twelve month photos so definitely more of this kid to come!

365 Photo : 33 – Digging Out

The “Blizzard of 2011″ came the night of Tuesday, February 1st into the 2nd. I woke up on the 2nd to find the driveway was now 2 feet of snow all the way to the road. Why I didn’t park closer to the road the night before is beyond me…

It took me 2 hours to dig a “van width” path to the road. And when I say van width, I mean I was scrapping both sides when I carefully backed out. I slowly made it a bit wider over a few days but wow was that a workout the first day!

365 Photo : 32 – Drifts!

The Blizzard of 2011 blew into West Michigan on the night of Tuesday, February 1st. The storm had been touted to be bringing 12-18″ of snow and 4-5′ drifts with it to the area. This is a drift at around 10:30pm after it had been snowing for only 5 hours and measured close to 2 feet.

365 Photo : 31 – Green Smoke

Last Monday, I tried to find a model to shoot but no one was available. I had want to try shooting smoke like this for some time but had never had the chance. Adam has been burning incense around the studio lately. I had fun for almost an hour burning incense, waving the smoke around and snapping the shutter. :)

365 Photo : 30 – Cold Winter Walk

Last Sunday was perfect for a winter walk. She had a stressful weekend so it was nice to get outside and just wander with the dogs. I was along to lend a friendly ear, soak in some sun and snap a few pics.

365 Photo : 29 – Brian’s New Album

Last Saturday, I spent the afternoon with Brian Lorente and some friends at the River City Studios. Brian and Kurt laid down a new acoustic version of “Stay With Me Tonight” which has been a favorite of mine for some time now. It was really cool to see how all the pieces of a recorded song come together to produce a CD quality track for the masses. The rest of the photos that I took will be used by the band in various promotional uses.
