Yay! I finally got my business cards in for On The Run Photography. It’s been a long time coming and I still need to get the website done that is listed on the cards but… they are printed!

This weekend was an event that I had been looking forward to for a couple weeks now. Some great people (Sasha Wolff, Adam Bird and Innereactive Media) from West Michigan pooled efforts together to bring an event to Grand Rapids that was really amazing. The idea started soon after the earthquake on January 12th by some photographers down in North Carolina. It’s a simple idea to make some extra money for people that need it in Haiti by some people that did’t have a bunch of extra cash around but had the ability to produce something that people want. Sasha Wolff brought the project to West Michigan, Adam helped with the studio space along with photographic skill/knowledge and Innereactive Media brought in some marketing for the event. I hung out just to help out with random stuff that needed to be done along the way. We all had a great time and everyone that came by seemed to be very happy with the experience.

Union Guns/RDS Preview

Last night was the Roy David Scott / Bronk Brothers DUAL CD release party at the Intersection with Union Guns opening the show. I had been waiting for this show for quite some time and it was everything that I hoped it would be. Union Guns got everything started around 8 and put on a great show as usual. I really think they are going to make some waves as time goes on and they get their music out there. Roy David Scott (formerly the Get The Cat band) was up next and put on another great segment of the show. There are 10 original tracks on the CD along with “Hooked on an 8 second ride” by Chris LeDoux. I had heard most of the songs before at various shows although it was nice to hear the final songs from the CD in a live setting. I definitely enjoy their music with the title track “County Line” and “Grab Another Gear” at the top of my list. Here is a small preview of the photos with the rest coming tomorrow.

Dog Portraits

This past Sunday, Falon and I attended a fundraiser for one of the dog groups that we are involved with. During some of the downtime, we took a few of the dogs aside and shots some simple portraits. Definitely some good results!

1st GVSU Photography Club Photowalk!

This was the end to a great photowalk. Today, the GVSU Photography Club ventured out into the cold for our first photowalk since the group’s creation. There were only 4 of us and it was like 20 degrees and windy as hell but we had fun. Oh ya and we got some good photos along the way!
